The two books Im reading and listening to right now are The Total Money Make Over and Rich Dad Poor Dad. There is no doubt they can change a persons life IF they will follow what is in them.

My biggest mistake has been consumer debt (CD). CD is not just credit cards…it comes in the form of those 0% loans that turn into the we just buried your ass in high interest rate loans debt. I didnt just buy junk with these loans.

I got braces for Libby, saved my dogs life at the vet, and got a new pair of glasses. So it wasnt that I didnt need those things…the problem is that I didnt PLAN for those things. In other words, I live to high on the hog as we say back home. Im not saving any money for when emergencies pop up. Dont get me wrong, Im able to pay my bills and even have some nice things. The problem is that I have just been winging it and not saving ANYTHING.

As Dave Ramsey says, my money has been managing me instead of me managing it! And that leads to a major mess and major stress! Send some positive thoughts my way as I try to change some bad habit$.

Don’t you love a new pedicure? I’m currently into green with sparkles; a bit young for me, but really at my age I figure my toes can be any color I want!!!

I am a horrible money manager, and that is embarrassing to me on many levels. Especially since I was raised by a father who was a bank president and retired as a real estate broker. I simply suck at finances but I have finally found a book that helps with it…that is, it will help if I follow it! Ill tell ya more about it later. Good Morning Everybody its monday and seriously i think you need something to get you through today to make ya laugh. I dont know why, but i cant stop laughing at this.

I feel from today till like Sept. 7th we should ALL just get to stay home, go on  vacation, chill out, whatever-just NOT work. We need a break! Well, everyone except the nice folks that make ice cream; that’s a most important function and I’m afraid they have to show up to work. Sorry.

Im listening to the song by Brandon Heath called, Give Me Your Eyes. It is a song about asking God to help us to see the pain and suffering of those around us. I love that prayer! It is the one I pray often. I spend way too much time focused on ME.

The radio biz is much like any form of entertainment…if we arent careful we become VERY self-absorbed. Our life becomes about getting as much attention as we can. Its not so much about wanting the attention as it is about wanting job security. We want to be loved so we can keep our jobs. Thus we become shameless self promoters. And it gets very easy to miss what is going on in the world around us. We can forget that we are here to give back and to love those around us.

My prayer is that one day God will truly use me to help a lot of people find the hope they need. Whether it is the homeless, the sick, or the many who just want to give up…my little piece of the spotlight needs to find a way to break through their darkness.
